The Bristol Chamber Orchestra BCO is a virtuoso chamber orchestra including strings, keyboard, woodwinds, brass & percussion. It is the only professional chamber orchestra in Southeastern Massachusetts & is headquartered in historic Easton Massachusetts. The Orchestra performs programs featuring guest artists, choral, theatrical & balletic collaborations.the orchestra is also available for commercial work.The repertory includes music of all periods and styles from Bach to Copland, Bernstein to Beethoven. The Bristol Chamber Orchestra Pops BCO POPS features guest jazz and popular artists and performs holiday music, ethnic music including reggae, Italian, Scottish, Jewish, Irish, African and Afro-American, Romantic songs, Patriotic songs, Movie themes, Broadway, Operetta and Opera tunes, Inspirational music, Blues to Bluegrass, Jazz, Pop, Rock & Classical favorites. BCO professional musicians come from the finest musical organizations in New England including the Boston Pops, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Ballet, Rhode Island Philharmonic, and Brown University, New England Conservatory & Boston University faculty. BCO presents renowned guest soloists including members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and also collaborate with other area performing groups, including choruses and composers. |

BCO Conducting Staff Music director, Harris Shilakowsky Since founding the BCO in 1999, Shilakowsky has performed with this orchestra, the Boston Symphony, Nashville Symphonies, the Buffalo Philharmonic, Handel-Haydn Society of Boston, Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, the American Symphony and London Symphony Orchestra. He is former concertmaster of the Charleston, New Orleans, Omaha, Grand Rapids Orchestras & conductor of the Rocky Ridge Festival Orchestra. is also the Resident conductor of the Rhode Island Philharmonic & former conductor of the Longwood Symphony, the Empire State Youth and conductor of performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra; San Antonio Symphony; Accademia Stefano Tempia; Torino, Italy; Orquestra Pro Musica Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Lubbock Symphony; Orquesta Filarmonica de Lima, Peru; Pro Arte Orchestra of Vienna, Austria. In addition to his serious classical concerts, he is well known for his light-hearted pops concerts in Rhode Island. BCO also performs Recording Sessions for Industrial Applications |
The Pops Orchestra performs with stars from Broadway, Jazz performers, Solo Acts and Groups. Repertory includes works for small ensembles in concerts & presentations. BCO performs orchestral concerts and educational events, workshops & clinics as the Chamber Orchestra, including the Young Artists Concerts featuring talented young virtuosi who audition for the opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra. BCO performs Pops concerts and are available for special events bookings such as conventions and corporate affairs.
