Where does the money from sponsorships and contributions go? How are these dollars used?
the professional musicians who perform our concerts. The Bristol Chamber Orchestra is a fully professional orchestra. Only the best, most talented virtuoso musicians are selected to perform in our concerts.  These musicians are highly skilled and hold music degrees from the great conservatories and music departments of major universities around the world. Whenever you see a performance by BCO musicians, your dollars are paying their fee for the day. Donations to the General Fund are used for operating expenses. We need lots of people to make these contributions to enable us to bring more concerts and educational programs to more communities in New England, and to spread the word about the beauty of chamber music.

Sponsorship of a soloist covers all costs pertaining to a concert soloist, including the soloist’s fee, the cost of music, and travel expenses.

concert sponsorship-
Concert sponsorship provides funding for an entire concert and covers rental of the performance hall, publicity and advertising, music acquisition, soloist expenses, and all  other costs related to that concert.

marketing expenses. The way you found out about us was either through a newspaper, email, letter, poster or website. The electricity to run the computer, the paper to print the programs and the letters to you, the tickets, and many other expenses incurred to get the message out about what we do is paid for by your contributions.

library expenses; We buy, rent and copy many pieces of music from various publishers which we perform on our concerts. Sometimes we have arrangers fees we need to pay, since the music frequently needs to be adapted to the size of our ensembles. On most of our concerts, we need to mail the music to the performers before the first rehearsal begins so they can practice and learn the music before we get together for rehearsals.
The library is also available for study purposes for students of music.

Staff expenses. To date, most of the contributions have been paid directly to concert & rehearsal expenses including the musicians' fees. The office work performed by professionals with experience in the music and administration businesses includes; Planning and executing programs, communicating with and contracting personnel, organizing and overseeing budgetary oversight, making important decisions to ensure BCO continues to integrate & maintain the fine arts into the lives of New Englanders.
